I worked as a journalist for more than 20 years and spent a decade as a writer and editor at the Daily Express. I started my career in Showbiz and moved into Diary and News, before spending seven years on Features, mainly covering Health. Latterly, I was Books Editor for the Health section and the Women’s pages which included writing, editing, commissioning and compiling book extracts. I’ve also written for the The Sunday Times, Daily Telegraph and London Evening Standard.
As a freelancer, I have written extensively about education for the Times Educational Supplement and I write copy for an education website and ghostwrite articles for the CEO. I have written and edited articles for the Journal of General Practice Nursing and Journal of Community Nursing, and written content for HIV charity raTrust. I have interviewed cancer survivors for Mission Remission and had online subbing shifts at Nursing Standard.
More recently I have been writing on addiction for Castle Craig and its affiliated clinics.
